Ways to Connect

We have many opportunities for people of all ages to connect through service to the church and each other:

Care and Concern

Serves families in difficult circumstances and special times of need by providing meals, cards and care

Christian Education

From Small Groups to Sunday Morning Sunday School, we are always looking for volunteers to teach all ages

Flower Committee

Provides floral arrangements each Sunday for the communion table and the Narthex

History Committee

Files and documents historical items, updates membership records and assists individuals in research and/or understanding of the history of our local church

Keenagers

Primarily for persons 55 years of age or older - meet once a month for lunch and a program

Library Committee

Maintains, organizes and contributes to the regular growth of our in-church library

Memorial Reception Committee

Brings comfort and healing to families by providing a reception with refreshments and a time for the family and friends to share and remember their loved ones

Men's Lunch Group

Generally meets the first Wednesday of the month at Noon at The Atlantic Family Restaurant

Secret Sisters/Sisters

Welcomes all ladies of the church and community to participate in these prayer ministry groups of caring and sharing with other sisters in Christ

Small Group Ministry

Focuses on discipleship, community and evangelism - read more in the small group section below

Tweens Women’s Group

Meets monthly with programs geared towards the needs and interests of a variety of ages of women

Uncommittee

Plans events to create fellowship, to reach out to the Penfield community and/or to raise funds for PUMC

Visitation Team

Regularly visits shut-ins living in senior facilities or their homes

Wednesday Men’s Work Crew

Meets at 9:00 AM every Wednesday morning to do miscellaneous maintenance tasks around the church

Welcome and Care

Provides coffee, tea and lemonade are provided Sunday mornings between services from September—June.

Worship Team

Leads us through our faith journey Sunday mornings by servings as acolytes, communion stewards, greeters, sound team members, ushers and worship leaders

Musical Groups

Our musical groups participate in services from September through June.  We have many opportunities for you to get involved, regardless of skill level!

Adult Bell Choir

Plays once a month on Sunday mornings; rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings

Chancel Choir

Sings during the 9:00 AM Worship Service each Sunday; rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings

Children's Choir

Sings during Sunday School and sometimes performs for Worship Services or special events

Praise Team

Provides musical leadership during the 10:45 AM Worship Service; rehearsals are on Thursday evenings

Youth Bell Choir

Plays some Sunday mornings; rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings

Sunday School

We have Sunday School classes that meet weekly from September through May between Worship Services.

Sunday School for Children and Youth

We have Sunday School classes for children ages 2 through 12th grade that meet weekly from September through May at 10:00 AM

Sunday Morning Adult Small Groups

Mixed Sunday Morning Discussion Groups meet on a variety of topics throughout the year

Sunday Morning Group "Kaleidoscope"

Mixed Sunday Morning Group "Kaleidoscope" meet 4th Sunday of the month

Couple's Small Groups

Meet once a month on a Saturday night in homes

Men's Saturday AM Bible Study

Meets at 8:00 AM Saturdays

United Methodist Women

Meet the 3rd Tuesday at 1:00 PM

Women's Book Club

Meets one evening a month

WINGS Group

Woman's group meets at 10:00 AM on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays

Younger Family Small Group

Meets in homes at various times
